MADRID, 9 Abr. (EUROPA PRESS) YouTube y Universal Music Group (UMG) han anunciado que lanzarán VEVO, un servicio de gran calidad que incluirá todos los videoclips de la discográfica. Llegará a Internet a finales de año y ambas partes se repartirán los beneficios publicitarios. Lo que no han avanzado el portal de vídeos y UMG es si también funcionará mediante suscripciones o será totalmente gratuito. Además de este nuevo servicio, YouTube y Universal Media Group han renovado el canal que la discográfica tiene en el portal de vídeos, lo que permitirá a los usuarios seguir creando y viendo vídeos generados por ellos mismos con grabaciones de sonido de UMG. A partir de su lanzamiento a finales de año, VEVO ofrecerá contenidos de los artistas de Universal y YouTube aportará la infraestructura tecnológica. Sony may release its ballyhooed PSP2 later this year, say the prophets at Pocket Gamer who claim their anonymous source is not Dave Perry. Thats because Dave Perry †possibly to his chagrin †is in fact the guy who only a few weeks ago said he knows another guy whos working on a prototype of a PSP without a UMD drive (for non-PSP-wonks, thats the mini-disc games and movies play from). No UMD drive equals radical architectural shift equals something a bit more distinguished than an iterative model number bump. Ergo PSP2. So Pocket Gamers source (anonymous of course) is raising Perrys UMD-less PSP2 by a touchscreen that slides open and a pair of dual analogue thumb nubs. They go one further by suggesting the specs and pricing will make waves at E3 this June. Word is, this device is being bumped up to compete with Apples iPhone and Nintendos DSi. Right or wrong about the device specs or exact release timeframe, sitting on your hands while your competitors drink your milkshake is just sloppy, and while Sony may on occasion be egoistically blinkered, its not stupid. Chinas Baidu Launches Portal for the Elderly.

Top Chinese search engine Baidu has launched a portal that caters to the middle-aged and the elderly with oversized links and few ads. The portal, which labels itself Baidu elderly search, features links to content such as revolutionary song downloads and a classical Chinese poetry forum that older Chinese are far more likely to appreciate than the younger generation. Other links are for Web sites dedicated to calligraphy, bird-raising or the traditional Chinese martial art tai-chi, all pastimes popular mainly among older Chinese. Baidu hopes the new portals considerate services will boost the number of older Chinese able to use the Internet and search engines, it said Thursday.
